We’re proud to be Canada’s first clinic (so far) offering Smartgraft hair restoration technology
Our Toronto plastic surgery clinic is pleased to announce that we are now offering Smartgraft hair replacement and we couldn’t be more excited. For the uninitiated Smartgraft is the most advanced hair replacement technology on the market offering the most natural results available.
Over the past few decades hair replacement has surged forward in being able to provide realistic hair replacement results. In only the past few years have the results become so perfect that no one can tell the hairline has been achieved through surgery.
How does Smartgraft work?
Smartgraft hair replacement addresses hair loss through conventional contemporary hair restoration procedures but distinguishes itself in how easy it is on the patient. The hair is harvested from donor sites and then divided into individual hairs which are then reset to rebuild the hairline your want.
Are there any complications?
Your doctor will explain in full all possible complications but most patients can return to work the next day and are fully recovered in only a few days. After that the only evidence of your procedure is the results.
How long does Smartgraft take?
The procedure will vary in length depending on how many transplants are necessary to achieve the look you want. The more hair required the longer the procedure will take. High estimates are 5 hours + though it can be less if your hair loss is not significant.
The Smarftgraft technology harvests the donor hair in roughly one third the time of other hair restoration methods.
This allows your doctor tor focus more on resetting the follicles over the harvesting portion of the procedure.
Are Smartgraft results immediate?
Yes and no. With hair transplants there are phases that occur approximately every few months. At first the hair will shed and fall out before it regrows. In 3 months you will see new hair growing, by 6 months the results will really be noticeable, and in 9 – 12 months you will have the same hair you did before your hair loss!
How much does it cost?
This question requires a consultation. There are many factors that influence the cost which we can review with you. Financing is available but most patients find that the price is surprisingly low since their exposure to hair transplant prices is dated.
Will I need to shave my head?
No not at all. The donor site may need to be buzzed down to harvest the donor hair that can then be covered by the surrounding longer hair. Smartgraft Hair transplants do not require you to shave your head.
Will there be any scarring?
No there will be no linear scar nor visible scarring since the donor hair is taken in small pieces before the individual hairs are divided in a temperature controlled, sterile environment before being transplanted.
We have a lot more coming when it comes to Smartgraft so stay tuned.
